New items on the website!

I added a few new items to the website tonight! A few new prints for snack bags and wipes and I also added reusable tote bags! I am going fabric shopping (again) tomorrow so I will have more pictures tomorrow night. I have also added some of the new pictures to the facebook page. And I am also looking for a few testers for Mama Cloth! The prototypes are up on the site to check out and there is also a coupon code to get them at a discount. Please, testers have to already be using mama cloth. If you have any questions, you can either comment here or email me at Jill@crunchycreations.com

Hope you all have a great weekend!

My Coupon Binder

If you have read my previous posts, then you know that I coupon. I am not as heavy into it as the people you might have seen on Extreme Couponing on TV, but I do pretty well. I can go to the grocery store and get about $100 worth of groceries for about $30. I call that a good day. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. Like when my husband springs on me that he needs food to take to work for a potluck and he already told them he would bring X and I don’t have any at home. I typically don’t order coupons from anywhere. But I have ordered full inserts and coupons from a clipping service when the deals were just too good and I wanted to stock up. I get my coupons from family and friends who don’t use them, or after they have already been picked over. I don’t cut out EVERY coupon, only ones that I ‘might’ feebly use. Example, I wont cut dog food coupons or disposable diaper coupons because we don’t have a dog, and we cloth diaper. ๐Ÿ™‚

I found this binder at Walmart a few weeks ago and it was in my price range. I have been on the hunt for a zippering binder but I refuse to pay $25 for one. This one was $10. And I think it works great. At least for my needs.

This is the inside of the front. It has space for pens/scissors and a business card, which I also put in a card with my phone number in it. ( I DID lose my coupon binder once before I got this big one and was seriously lost. lol I called the store and thankfully someone turned it in)

Then it also has this little zippered section that has a pouch for a cell phone or iPod. It even has a hole from the front that you can feed your ear buds through to listen to it with the iPod concealed.

When you open it up it has one three-ring binder on the right side and on the left is a file folder section that I have my store coupon policies in just in case I would ever need them.

Here are the sections I have at the moment. I might buy another set of the 8 dividers and then separate them a little more. But for now this works well for me. I have them laid out in the order of where things are in my local grocery store. Of course Produce is first and the meat/cheese counter but I rarely have coupons for that so I didn’t make a section. Next in the store is health and beauty… etc.

Random picture of a page of coupons in the baseball card holders. I think I paid $3.50 or something close to that at walmart for them. And I have a lot extra. But then again, I don’t keep a lot in stock in the binder. They go in, they will be getting used soon.

Here is a picture of a large coupon that I was able to fit in the space of 2 baseball cards.

Those little plastic seams are just heat pressed, so they come off pretty easily.

Just grab the seam and push your finger down the seam and it should separate easily.

Dont mind the blurry pictures.

And here is an internet printable that takes up the whole row. But at least you don’t have to go buy any more sleeves that are more expensive than the baseball card ones. If you have any questions, let me know. Id be happy to answer them.

Do you coupon? Do you have a binder you would like to share?

Great Shopping Day!

I just randomly came across some deals last night, so I decided to go out to my local Rite Aid and Target to see what kind of deals I could find. Here is what I got.

I think thats a pretty good shopping day ๐Ÿ™‚

Great Mail day!

I love getting awesome mail. lol I knew my Vistaprint things were supposed to come today, but I wasnt sure when my replacement glasses would get here. AND I got a free sample of fish food and a coupon for a free Suave product!

If you wear glasses, you know how expensive they can be. Especially without insurance. Well we are lucky to have insurance but it only covers glasses every 2 years. If I would break them in between, I need to pay out of pocket for a new pair. Coastal Contacts has been running this promotion for a while now, in fact they are running it today. You give them all of your prescription information and pick a pair of glasses, the cheaper ones, not the crazy expensive ones, and they are FREE! Just pay shipping! My shipping was $12. My hubbys was $16 and we were able to put it on our FSA! When mine first came they were missing a nose piece and screw. So I called they said they would send out a new pair. They emailed me a label, I printed it and put it on the box they came in and they were sent back. We are both VERY happy with these glassed. I am actually wearing mine now. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is what I got.

And here is my old pair on top, new pair on bottom. Very similar. I didnt want to get anything crazy for fear that I wouldnt like them when I got them. But I LOVE them!

On their facebook page they tell you when they will have the promo again so you can take advantage of it. Its for the first 10,000 people who use the code. It usually takes a few hours for it to expire so you dont necessarily have to be ‘locked and loaded’ right at the starting time. Just be prepared with your eye prescription and pic a few pairs of frames in case the one you want sells out. Here is the link to their FB page.

SECOND awesome mail pictures…. Vistaprint! I purchased the Living Social deal a few weeks ago for $10 and got $50 towards the site. But you cant combine that with other shipping offers. If I wanted free shipping I had to spend $25 ABOVE the $50, so $75. If I had just spent the $50, the shipping was like $20 anyways, so I might as well have got more product and then free shipping, right? They have a lot of free items which are great. I have ordered their address labels before and really liked the quality. And with me starting this little home business, I needed some swag. Here is what I got:

One banner, I think its 1.5×3 feet? Doesnt come with the gromets in the corners which I knew. I can do that here.

Lots of business cards… free ones for me and hubby, and then I paid for the ones on the left.

I got 2 canvas bags

Postcards, an envelope stamp, pen and post-it notes- ALL free

And address labels. Both for home and for the business.

I also got a bumper sticker, but didnt take a picture. It was free too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Total cost was the initial $10, and then $27, so $37. I think thats ok. I would have loved it to be cheaper, but I can deal with it. I am just happy that they came in time for the 2 events that I will be selling at this weekend and next.

What do you think?

Thank you!

We have finally reached ove 100 fans on our facebook page! Thank you SO much! I currently have a few things in the works with vendor shows and also a very popular and awesome blog friend that wants to do a WAHM Spotlight and review of my snack bags! So be on the look out for that in about 2 weeks. ๐Ÿ™‚ For now… I’m keeping busy sewing and making dryer balls for these 2 events. Maybe I can see some of my local friends there? Also, my vistaprint order should be here tomorrow so I will have all of my business cards and my banner ready to display. ๐Ÿ™‚ I cant wait!
